Huanhu South Road- a streetscape for slow living in a city

Huanhu South Road is the first road under construction for Ganjian New District Chinese Medicine Tech-City. It’s a three-kilometer long streetscape overarching major R&D, comercial, residential districts, and the central lakefront park from East to West. Based on the local herbal health industry and the extraordinary surrounding mountains and lakes, the design goal is to realize a “slow-living township lifestyle” through creating cozy street scale, warm and calming color and textures. The overall street maintains a consistent design character but details varied by adjacent uses.
