Planning Review

Located in the foothills of Altadena, this residential landscape is part of a rebuilding effort following the Eaton Fire. The design reimagines the steep site as a series of layered terraces that extend living into the landscape while responding to the surrounding mountain setting.
Sculptural planting, shaded garden spaces, and carefully framed views create a sense of intimacy and connection to the terrain. Fire-resilient planting and defensible-space strategies are integrated into the design as essential components of the new landscape.
Together, the terraces, planting, and architecture establish a calm, resilient environment shaped by both recovery and a renewed relationship with the land.
