Sunantana Nuanla-or

Landscape Designer 

Sunantana is registered Landscape Architect in Thailand. Her broad experiences ranging from residential landscape design to large, complex urban areas, has informed her professional goals as a landscape architect to create ecological and sustainable site designs that support the wise management of environments and improves the quality of life for our society. She had practiced landscape professional in international firms in Singapore, Thailand and interned at SWA GROUP at Houston Office. She strives for project design excellence and quality management. Prior to join PLAT STUDIO, Sunantana earned Master of Landscape Architecture from Louisiana State University with the recognition of Dean’s Medalist and Class of 2016 Design Excellence Award. While studied at LSU, she worked as graduate assistant at Coastal Sustainability Studio (CSS) where she incorporated closely with research fellows in CPRA visualization project for Water Campus Exhibition in downtown Baton Rouge.

She is passionate in research and innovation focusing on water and environmental management. In 2015, Her team “Bangkok Canal SOS” was selected as one of three finalists of Global Student Competition URBAN SOS All System Go and was presented to public at A+D museum in Los Angeles. The project demonstrates the proposal of developing Bangkok’s Canal system to mitigate major city problems such as flood, environmental degradation, and poor transportation system. Furthermore, her graduate thesis work on “Creating Sustainable Future of Mae Kha Canal in Chiang Mai”, Thailand was notified to receive 2016 National ASLA Student Award Honor in Analysis and Planning. The project articulates the application of ecological and sustainable approaches together with intensive site analysis to effectively create design strategies that will enhance and revitalize future of Mae Kha Canal, the most polluted urban canal in the North of Thailand. This project has been disseminated throughout the government of Chiang Mai City and hopefully will be fully implemented on multiple levels in the near future.
